Last nights storm was almost as severe as last weeks monsoon of a storm. Today the state recovers and assesses damage while restoring power to some 900 + affected residents.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Hundreds around the Palm Beaches will spend their Wednesdays assessing the damage caused by strong storms that swept through the area Tuesday night.

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, nearly 900 FPL customers were still without electricity, WPBF 25 News reported. Here's a breakdown of those waiting to get their power restored:

+ Palm Beach County -- 70 homes + Martin County -- 600 + St. Lucie County -- 130 + Indian River -- 60 + Okeechobee -- 10

Dangerous and massive storm hitting SW coast of Florida and moving NE

All the way from Port Charlotte to Rookery Bay, Florida is severe weather in the red on weather radar. The front of the storm is already as far inland as Tuckers Corner on the north side, and Immokalee on the south side. Then an arm of the storm branches off in the green across to the east coast of florida into a big ball of a storm rolling over boynton and west palm beach, which got slammed by a dangerous storm in the red just 20 - 30 minutes earlier just like we did here about an hour ago in indian river county.

The rest of this dangerous storm is in the south slamming miami, hollywood, ft.lauderdale, pembroke pines, and Hialeah on the east coast.

We were in the middle of some wicked storms earlier here in Indian River County and i just heard on CBS 12 that tornado damage was reported near indrio road and us1 vero beach/ft. pierce.
